Under the ongoing project "Our Choice – the Real Self-Governance" The Young Scientists Union "Intellect" collaborated "The Declaration of Good Governance".
On May 28, two days earlier than the elections day, the members of the union met the candidates for majority in five Adjarian region municipalities (Khulo, Shuakhevi, Keda, Khelvachauri, Kobuleti) and represented "The Declaration of Good Governance" to them. The members of Sakrebulo approved and signed the declaration optionally. "We approve the principles of the declaration. I am sure that the majority candidates of the party "Alliance", those who have signed the declaration will take into their consideration all these principles in the case they come to Sakrebulo"- stated Iveri Gugunava, the majority candidate for the political party "Alliance".
According to "The Declaration of Good Governance" the members of Sakrebulo take responsibility of maintaining the activities of the local self government transparent, of establishing the high quality public service systems, of supporting the involvement of the local residents into the processes of making decisions, of forming the budget on the basis of the public demands, of supporting the economical development of the municipality and improving the business environment, of insuring the wellbeing of the local residents. "The Declaration of Good Governance" was signed by all the party members running for the elections of the local self government.
The process of signing "The Declaration of Good Governance" is not the last step of the ongoing project; the union will monitor the effectiveness of the above mentioned document.
