In the limits of the project "Enhancing the Capacities of local self-governments for long-term sustainable development in the region of Adjara" the Young Scientists Union "Intellect" the sociological research of five municipalities of Adjara has completed, which was necessary for working out strategic plans of social and economic development and for having complete information about the existing situation in municipalities. In sociological research 5 150 respondents participated including:
In khulo municipality 940 respondents were interviewed;
In Shuakhevi Municipality – 620
In Keda Municipality – 590;
In Khelvachauri Municipality – 1480
In Kobuleti Municipality – 1520 respondents
During the sociological research the sex, age, education, social status and field of action were foreseen.
The research and prioritization of the following problems: employment and infrastructure, training the specialists, pre-school, cultural, medical and every-day life and general educational establishments, also the agricultural development, business, tourism, consumers’ credits etc. as well as the ways of solving problems listed by the population – this is a small list of the questions at which the population of target municipalities had to answer.
